The UK market often wants CLS as graded C16 against the EN 338 standards, which should align with #1 in North America.
Export from eastern seaboard should offer an efficient route to UK. Some customers want the CLS as cut to specific length for immediate use in framing factories or as 2.4m, 3.6m and 4.8m lengths. Sales rates are based on the nominal sizes - 50x75, 50x100, 50x150mm but delivered in the final planed sizes of 38x63, 38x89, 38x140mm Some will need UC2/HC2 timber preservative treatment, but there may be options to do this in the UK. |
