Description |
Bangkirai is an exotic wood species imported from the tropical forests of Indonesia (Southeast Asia). It is characterized by a compact, uniform structure, making it hard, resistant to mechanical damage, and well-suited to withstand adverse weather conditions. Bangkirai wood is also resistant to fungi, insects, and termites, which is why it is one of the most commonly chosen exotic wood species for decking. Its exceptional properties make it ideal for piers, walkways, poolside decks, as well as balconies and loggias, serving as an alternative to cold ceramic tiles.
Bangkirai stands out with its rich color palette – a mix of warm golden brown, light brown, and reddish-brown shades, which allows the wood to beautifully complement its surroundings. A deck made from this wood is also easy to maintain, as its high natural oil content means it does not require impregnation (it is recommended to oil it once a year, which will give it a glossy surface, enhance its color, and prevent the natural aging process of the wood |
