The fences are produced using a weaving machine. It ties the acacia slats together with 2, 3, 4, or 5 rows of wire. Each row of wire is made of 4 galvanized wires, 1.8 mm thick, with high tensile strength (550 N/mm²). The French-manufactured weaving machine twists the wires between each slat so that they are completely tight and cannot move. The quality of a weaving machine is mainly assessed by the force it exerts when twisting the wires between each slat. The rolls of fencing measure 5 or 10 meters in length. The pallets contain 15 or 10 rolls each, respectively. The acacia fences are made from sawn and slightly pointed slats. They have an average circumference of 11 cm. We saw large acacia trunks into boards and then into slats. The slats are therefore made of very hard wood and have little to no sapwood. It is the sapwood that blackens in acacia. Our acacia fences turn gray over time but do not blacken. They also do not release tannin (unlike chestnut fences). The spacings between the slats are 1-2 cm, 2-3 cm, 3-4 cm, 4-5 cm, 5-6 cm, 6-7 cm, 7-8 cm, 8-9 cm, 9-10 cm.
