Sweden: increased logging and silviculture costs in large-scale forestry

Costs for silviculture in large-scale forestry increased by 7 percent in 2012 compared with previous year, says the Swedish Forest Agency (SFA). There was also costs increase for maintenance and for new investments in forest roads.

On average, logging costs for thinning and regeneration felling increased in Southern Norrland region (Norra Norrland) and in Southern Sweden region (Götaland). In other regions of Sweden the costs remained unchanged.
