Russia: roundwood and lumber exports up in January-October 2016

In Janurary-October 2016, the total volume of the Russian roundwood and lumber exports grew year-on-year both in volume and in value terms, says the statistics published by the Russian Federal Customs Service. 

Thus, during the first ten months of 2016, Russia exported 16.56 million m3 of unprocessed timber. That is 6.68% more than during the respective period of the last year when these figures reached 15.56 million m3. The total value of the Russian roundwood exported in January-October 2016 came up to $1.106 billion, whereas during the same period of the last year – $1.032 billion. Therefore, the Russian roundwood export in value terms increased by 2,26%. The average price of the Russian roundwood during the above mentioned period reached 66.67 $/m3 (Jan-Oct 2015: 69.5 $/m3). 

The total Russian lumber export went up by 14.14% and reached 13.569 million tonnes. In January-October 2015, these figures reached 11.888 million tonnes. The total value of the Russian lumber exported during the first ten months of 2016 came up to $2.65 billion, whereas during the respective period of the last year – $2.59 billion. Thus, the Russian lumber export volume grew in value terms by 2.36%. he average price of the Russian lumber during the above mentioned period reached 195.4 $/m3 (Jan-Oct 2015: 217 $/m3).
