For the Lauterbach location, the Pfeifer Group recently ordered two board scanners of the Goldeneye 900 type from Microtec, which are to replace the existing Wanescan type forest edge scanners from summer 2021.
“With increasingly poor wood quality, the demands on sorting continue to increase. This can no longer be achieved by an operator in combination with high cycle rates, "says Sales Account Manager Axel Creuzberger, adding that the scanners planned in Lauterbach will use the latest configuration as well as artificial algorithms to provide the necessary detection performance . Due to the corona pandemic, the entire planning and sales process was designed digitally.
The installation will be a challenge during the very tight summer overhaul. Within two weeks, Microtec will adjust the mechanics and install the two scanners so that production can start on schedule.
A scanner of this type was installed at the Kundl site at the beginning of 2020. The North and South Tyrolean companies Pfeifer and Microtec have been working closely together for years - from Logeye 301D log scanners to Goldeneye scanners for longitudinal and transverse transport, there are numerous Microtec solutions at almost all Pfeifer locations.
