In 2018 the exports value of the Finnish forest industry products was EUR 13.20 billion. The exports value increased five percent from previous year, the Natural Resource Institute Finland (Luke) reported.
In January-December the exports value of the Finnish wood-products industries was EUR 2.90 billion and it decreased from previous year five percent. The export value of pulp and paper industries increased by eight percent from previous year to EUR 10.31 billion.
In January-December wood imports totalled 11.55 million cubic metres which increased by 34 percent from previous year.
In 2018 of imported wood in Finland, 63 percent was pulpwood, 27 percent chips and six percent logs. The share of fuelwood, preserved wood and wood residues was four percent. From imported wood 71 percent originated from Russia, 12 percent from Estonia and 9 percent from Latvia in 2018.
