Finland’s wood imports totalled 0.99 million cubic metres in September 2018, reports Natural Resource Institute Finland (Luke).
In January-September 2018, wood imports totalled 8.23 million cubic metres. Compared to the same period of 2017 imports increased by 23%. The share of the pulp wood in the total export of the Finnish forest industry products was 63%. The share of chips came up to 27%, and that of logs equalled 6%.
The export value of the Finnish forest industry products totalled EUR 1.07 billion in September. In January-September, the export value of the Finnish forest industry products totalled EUR 9.93 billion. The export value increased by 5% compared to the same period of 2017 (deflated using whole sale price index 1949=100).
