The 1,600 employees of Biesse in Pesaro and those of related suppliers are worried.
After the boom of 2022 in which the company had achieved over 820 million euros in revenue its all been downhill for the group. Employees of Biesse have been on so-called "solidarity" contracts since October which expire at the end of June. The company and unions are working to extend it for another three months, the maximum possible.
New sacrifices are expected: the top management of Biesse has made it clear that they intend to further reduce working hours because orders are languishing.
The Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Massimo Potenza and has resolved to entrust executive powers to the current President, Roberto Selci, who assumes the role of CEO. The choice ensures continuity in the strategic direction of the group, maintaining the corporate vision based on integration, multi-materiality and long-term value creation.
Potenza's contribution to the One Company model
During his tenure, Massimo Potenza led a significant process of organizational transformation, contributing to the birth of the One Company model, aimed at optimizing and integrating internal processes. An approach that strengthened the company's competitive positioning in the sectors it serves.
Future prospects for Biesse
It is emerging that the Hannover fair in Germany, the most important in the world for the sector, was a flop. Therefore, the intentions to restart the production of machines are put on the back burner. The theorized two weeks of vacation are back to three because the order portfolio has not grown as hoped.
With the new leadership configuration, Biesse intends to continue its development path with determination, focusing on innovation, operational efficiency and the valorization of internal skills. The experience of Roberto Selci, already deeply involved in corporate governance, represents a factor of stability and vision to face the upcoming industrial challenges.
