Description
CombiScan with an X-ray sensor: Enhanced defect detection

An X-ray sensor is used for defects with varying densities. This enables the machine to look at different surfaces and classify defects according to density. Sensors for shape measurement, moisture, unplaned areas etc. complete the picture.

X-ray sensors can not only be useful for rough-sawn or dirty surfaces, but also for wood types with wide color variations. Their primary benefit is that localized internal defects are detected via changes in density. Branches, for example, are easily recognized owing to their higher density, regardless of the surface properties. Dirt, dust, grease, water marks, ***** no longer a problem when detecting branches.

X-ray can also be used for sorting by strength.
