Easy lighting, hot burning, clean, economical hardwood briquettes delivered. RUF OAK
These clean, hot burning heatlogs are a great alternative to firewood logs for use in fireplaces, log and multifuel stoves, chimeneas, log boilers and coal fired cooking ranges. Containing a mixture of hardwood (birch) and softwood (pine), these heat logs are made from 100% compressed virgin sawdust with nothing added. Due to very low moisture levels (only 5% compared to 20% in kiln-dried logs and 30% in seasoned logs), the heatlogs light easily and produce a nice burn followed by a long, hot "glow". The briquettes are very dense and replace as much as 4x their volume of logs, saving you money, effort and storage space. What are the briquettes like? These briquettes are of an off-white colour and release a scent of forest when you open the package. They have very high calorific value of ca. 17.8 MJ/kg. They do not spit or smoke because of the low moisture content. Each briquette measures approximately 65mm x 90mm x 150mm (approx. 2.5 x 3.5 x 6 in.). There are 12 briquettes in a 10kg clear polythene bag. The package contains minimal loose sawdust since the heat logs are well pressed using original RUF briquette making presses. The pallet is shrink-wrapped. Pallet sizes are: Full pallet - 96 x 10kg bags How to get the most out of this product? In our tests they released plenty of heat for over 3.5 hours. Burning time in different appliances will depend on air inflow setting, number of briquettes loaded, outside temperature, and size of appliance and can range anywhere from 1 hour to over 3 hours. A minimum of three briquettes should be loaded at any given time. Because they burn very hot and expand slightly in the fire, it is important not to overload your fire box. Loading to about half the capacity is usually ideal, but try and see what works best for you. The secret to maximising performance from these briquettes is to get them really hot before turning down the air flow. These low cost, high heat briquettes for heating are sure to impress. |
