Description
Open water wooden houses.
The project is set within a pond adorned with aquatic vegetation, fostering a harmonious integration between architecture and the natural environment. The villa is crafted from high-density tropical hardwood, meticulously assembled using traditional Japanese techniques. The roof is clad in ironwood shingles, a material chosen for its exceptional durability, structural strength, and optimal performance in humid conditions. The composition is organized over four reinforced concrete platforms, conceived as foundational and structural elements that accommodate the villa’s distinct programmatic areas: With high-density tropical wood. 4 rooms (living room. Bedroom. Bathroom. Kitchen.). Interior floor made of solid tongue-and-groove planks. The rooms are connected to each other with high-density wooden platforms.
Built in our facilities on the island of Bali.
The structures are executed using laminated solid timber, assembled through traditional Japanese carpentry techniques without visible metal fasteners, optimizing structural performance while minimizing thermal bridges. This system ensures high dimensional accuracy, excellent control of the thermal envelope, and exceptional durability, fully aligned with the principles of passive architecture.
The modular design allows for complete disassembly of the structure at the factory in Bali, optimizing industrial processes, minimizing waste, and reducing the environmental footprint associated with transportation. On-site assembly is then carried out quickly, accurately, and cleanly, significantly reducing construction time, energy consumption, and on-site risks.
The villa’s structure was fabricated in our facilities on the island of Bali and subsequently dismantled and shipped door-to-door in containers to its destination in Ibiza, allowing for effortless installation on site.
