    Germany: Producer Prices Ease in December

    Nearly all producer prices for wood products in Germany showed a significant price increase compared to the same month last year. One exception are finger-jointed sqares and beams, which are slightly in the red. However, compared to the November figures, prices for all products eased - except for energy wood products and MDF panels. Spruce and Fir lumber fell by 1.3 points, thus continuing the trend of recent months. KVH even lost 3.5 points, equivalent to a price decline of 2.6%. [more...]

    German Sawmills To Cut 15% More By 2015

    Half of the German sawmills expect a deterioration of the log supply and rising log prices (on average by 12 percent) up to 2015. This is one of the results of a new survey of the consultancy Schwaerzer & Partner from Munich presented at the 2012 sawmill congress of the association of the German sawmill and wood industry, VDS.
