Moelven's profit drops due to price adjustments

Norwegian sawmilling company Moelven posted a NOK 22 million (EUR 2,6 million) profit on the company's operations during the first quarter. Thus Moelven's profit was down 31% as compared to the same quarter of 2014. Acting CEO Morten Kristiansen says that the decline in profit is mainly due to the accounts being charged with price adjustments on inventories in the Wood and Timber divisions, which operate sawmills and planing mills (mechanical wood) in Norway and Sweden...... Production in construction down by 1.8% in euro area

In February 2015 compared with January 2015, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector fell by 1.8% in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.2% in the EU28 , according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Germany: Prices for wood products largely stable in February

German producer prices for wood products have remained largely stable in February 2015, though with a slight downward trend. Many products are cheaper over January by between 0% and 1%.
