    Western Forest Products: highest quarterly EBITDA in history

    The HOMAG Group reports good order situation

    The HOMAG Group, the world’s leading manufacturer for plant and machinery for the woodworking industry and for cabinet makers, was able to significantly increase order intake by nearly 7 percent to EUR 182.3 million in the first quarter of 2013 (prior year: EUR 170.6 million), contrary to the industry trend. CEO Dr. Markus Flik explains: “This good order intake is even more remarkable considering the recently held LIGNA, the leading trade fair in the industry, as many of our customers typically wait until after LIGNA to make investment decisions.” The order backlog reached with EUR 230.9 million as of March 31, 2013 (prior year: EUR 208.9 million) the highest first-quarter figure since 2008, because among other factors numerous complex projects were in an early phase of processing at the end of the quarter. His new harwarder, “The Beauty”, a combined harvester and forwarder, is a stylish ten-wheeler with a specially designed weight distribution system that reduces ground pressure and damage.     Kronospan to Receive EBRD Financing for OSB and Particleboard Production

    The EBRD is considering providing a two tranche senior loan (EUR 65 million and EUR 35 million) to Kronospan OSB FLLC, Belarus, to finance construction of an oriented strand board (OSB) plant in the Mogilev. A senior syndicated A/B loan of up to EUR 90 million is considered to be provided to Kronospan Bashkortostan LLC in Russia. [more...]

    Full Order Books at Dieffenbacher

    With orders in excess of EUR 220 million received in the first four months of the year, order levels in the Wood Business Unit of Dieffenbacher are well above the planned figure. The company and its Chinese subsidiary Dieffenbacher-SWPM agreed a total of ten orders for wood-based panel plants with a continuous press.     Bi-metal saws from Ro-Ma Machine Cutting Tools Ltd. at LIGNA 2013

    Ro-Ma Machine Cutting Tools Co., Ltd (Ro-Ma Zakłady Narzędzi Skrawających Sp. z o.o.) from Poland launches new products onto the market. The latest devices within the company's wide assortment are bi-metal band saws: wood-cutting Black Säge and metal-cutting Iryd Säge. The Black Säge saw will expand the currently available segment of medium band saws. So far the Company has offered four types of saws: Silver Säge made of carbon steel, Safir Säge, Gold Säge and Tytan Säge made of alloy steel. A wide range of dimensions and saw types enabled customers to optimally adjust the tools to their needs and expectations.
