July wood pellet price index in Central and Western Europe

Our survey indicates that in July 2004 the price of wood pellets has continued to stabilize in Central and Western Europe. The mild winter caused a sharp price drop throughout the first five months, however, since May, the pellet price has remained at the same levels with few minor changes.

In Switzerland, the average price is slightly up compared to June. The current price for a tonne of pellets stands at CHF 396.3 (EUR 326.36), as compared to June's price of CHF 395.2 (EUR 324.6).

Also in Germany the pellet price remains favourable. The average price in July stands at €248.63/tonne, which is 6 €-Cents less than last month and 8 percent less than in July 2013.

In Austria the average price of pellets was €242,4/t in July. As compared to June wood pellets are slightly more expensive (+0.3%), meanwhile as compared to July 2013, the price is lower by almost 4%.
