Uniboard's Moncure Plant to be FSC Certified
After announcing the construction of its new MDF and HDF plant in Moncure, North Carolina in July 2009, Uniboard confirmed that its plant has been issued a Chain of Custody (COC) Certificate Multi-site by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) SW-COC 002726. Lise Plant, Product Manager at the Panel Business Unit, said that this certificate showcases Uniboard’s commitment to eco-friendly policies. Moncure is the fourth Uniboard plant to receive an FSC certification, together with the Val d’Or and Sayabec facilities in Quebec and the Fostoria one in Ohio. The Mont-Laurier plant (Quebec) will be certified in late 2009.
Moncure also holds a Composite Panel Association (CPA) certification and meets the requirement of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 1. Moncure can also offer products that are certified CARB Phase 2.
