Germany: Softwood Lumber Exports Tumble

In September, German exports of Spruce and Fir lumber have declined further. Year-on-year exports are 8% behind 2010. Particularly to Belgium and Austria exports dropped significantly by 65% and 29% in September. With over 662.124 cubic meters, total deliveries to Austria are still 20% higher than exports in the reference period of 2010. Exports to North Africa and in countries of the Arabian Peninsula recorded an increase.
