Shengda Partners Up with Flooring Industries
On the 18th of September 2009, Flooring Industries entered into a world-wide license agreement with Sichuan Shengda Forestry Industrial Company for the use of Unilin’s patented glueless locking technology.
Aside from Shengda, other main players active on the Chinese market, such as Power Dekor, Asia Dekor and PTP, have had partnerships with Unilin.
Unilin’s technologies (glueless locking systems, beveled edges, surfaces technologies, manufacturing methods) are protected in China by 8 granted patents and 21 patent applications. The SIPO (State Intellectual Property Office) based in Beijing confirmed the validity of the Unilin's patent portfolio in 2008 after an attack that was launched in 2006. This decision was in line with previous decisions of patent offices in other parts of the world.
