Manufacturing plants will be empty in April because…everybody will be in Poznań
26/02/2008 - 11:50

The International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries DREMA and the Fair of Components for Furniture Production FURNICA held on 1-4 April in Poznań have attracted almost 800 companies presenting their offers on the exhibition area of 35,000 m2. Numerous new offers, interesting presentations and a unique programme of events await the visitors.

DREMA – super transfer of technologies
The International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries DREMA will provide knowledge about the latest offers for the woodworking and furniture sectors. Solutions for small, medium-sized and large companies interested in single unit and mass series production will be presented at the fair. Representatives of virtually all important international brands will be present in Poznań.

FURNICA – the latest trends
Visitors to the Poznań fair will have an opportunity to see the latest trends on the world market of components for furniture production in the same place and at the same time. FURNICA has been robustly developing every year and has recorded increased numbers of exhibitors and presented products. According to the organisers, the scope of the show will make it possible to implement even the most ambitious furniture designs. Because of its form, FURNICA is an attractive communication platform between producers, furniture designers and component suppliers.

A unique programme of events
The advantage of DREMA and FURNICA is the opportunity to participate in interesting events organised by the Poznań Fair. One of them is the 2nd Economic Forum of the Polish Wood and Furniture Industry Polwood 2008. Participants of this event will include renowned experts from the woodworking and furniture sectors who will discuss current issues related to the sector. The previous edition of Polwood attracted attention of politicians and the media.

KRONOPLUS An important event at FURNICA is the meeting with Zuzanna Skalska, a trendwatcher from the Dutch agency VanBerlo Strategy + Design. She will share her observations about intertwining design trends on the area called “The Charm of Details – Light and Colour”. Additionally, the second issue of the guide to trends will be published at the fair. The guide entitled “Unlimited Inspirations” is a unique publication with interesting information and photos.

As always, the fair will be the venue for the Polish Championships in Nail Hammering with valuable prizes, such as a 5,000 PLN voucher for METABO electric tools. Who will replace the current champion? We will find it out very soon. Winners of the Conjured from Wood competition for pupils from schools with wood processing specialisations for the most interesting wooden object will be also announced.

Live Furniture Factory and a pattern book for designers
NONET Live Furniture Factory is a special exposition area at DREMA and FURNICA. It will be located in Pavilion 3. Suppliers of machines and components for furniture production will jointly present their potential.

This year, the model factory will produce kitchen furniture with an interesting design. The number of technological operations involved in the kitchen furniture production makes this presentation extremely attractive for professionals searching for innovative solutions. The Factory will have efficient information management, which significantly reduces production costs and limits threats due to staff shortage. DREMA BOOT CAMP will be a source of interesting experiences. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet representatives of companies with various experience in woodworking. It will be a venue for practical shows of wood preparation, veneering and staining with the latest products of Polish and foreign manufacturers of woodworking devices.

KRONOPLUS Trade fair organisers have prepared The Charm of Details – Light and Colour area for furniture designers to inspire them with interesting patterns and solutions in furniture lighting. This area will be also a venue for discussions and meetings with such people as Zuzanna Skalska, a trendwatcher of the Dutch agency VanBerlo Strategy + Design. The visit to The Charm of Details is the only opportunity to obtain the new issue of the guide to trends entitled “Unlimited Inspirations”.

The Exhibition of Old Carpenter’s Machines has been prepared for all those interested in the history of woodworking. The exhibition will include unique exhibits. The collection is richer and more fascinating every year. Moreover, stamp collectors will be able to see an interesting exhibition organised under the title: “Wood on post stamps”.
