Kronospan might launch its Russia-based particleboard plant in summer 2015

Construction works at Kronospan's Ufa site in Russia may be finalised by the end of June 2015. The statement was made by Rustem Khamitov, head of Bashkiria (The Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia) quoted by RBC Daily. 

"In July, at the very latest, the particleboard plant will be launched" - commented Mr. Khamitov. According to him the Russian party repeteadly discussed with the company representatives several issues of concern among which the Western policy of the so-called anti-Russian sanctions. The head of the Republic states that Kronospan does not support the abovementioned sanctions and is not going to change its decision on the plant launch near Ufa,'' Mr. Khamitov added. 

It is notable that earlier on the Russian mass media mentioned another date - May 2015. 

Back in February 2015, it was announced that Kronospan had already opened job vacancies – the company was going to employ about 250 people. 

In the first stage the new Kronospan plant is expected to reach an annual particleboard capacity of 1 million m3 per year. Moreover, the company is going to produce laminated boards and adhesives. The amount of investments in the first stage of the project was estimated to come up to 6 billion rubles, while the total value to reach 20 billion rubles.
