Price evolution of wood pellets in Germany

At the beginning of the heating season the price of wood pellets in Germany remains stable. In November, German ENplus A1 pellets are traded at an average price of 235.58 EUR per tonne (t), the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV) reports. Thus, wood pellets cost 0.8 percent more than last month, but 6 percent less than in November 2014.

"At the start of the heating season, the price of wood pellets is very low. Anyone who has not yet filled his pellet storage, now should hurry up, "says Martin Bentele, Managing Director of DEPV. "Because traditionally the pellet price will rise during the winter months."

In November 2015, wood pellets in Germany recorded the following regional differences: In southern Germany, the price of pellets rose slightly to 233.39 EUR/t compared to October (for 6 t purchases). In central and northern Germany, the price has also increased slightly and now stands at 235.21 EUR/t and 242.47 EUR/t, respectively.

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in November 2015 in the following conditions: south: 219.88 EUR/t; center: 218.45 EUR/t; north/east: 225.50 EUR/t (all including VAT)
