In February, the German producer price index for wood products has registered a high degree of stagnation as compared to January. However, compared to February 2013, most of the prices rose sharply.

Spruce lumber, roof battens and raw particle boards are significantly more expensive over January. All other wood products have registered stable prices or even recorded declines. The latter applies also for timber and pellets.

Compared with the same month last year almost all prices increased. The exceptions are beech blocks and HDF panels which are below last year's level. Energy wood assortments, roof battens and boards (width over 16 cm) and KVH have registered the highest increases. With 104 points, KVH, however, is priced much worse off than softwood lumber products that range between 110 and 120.
