Dalian - Woodworking and Furniture exhibition attracts 40,000 visitors

The China International Furniture, woodworking machines, components and raw materials [summer] Exhibition gained great success in the Dalian Xinghai Exhibition Centre from June 12th -15th. In the exhibition, about 400 exhibitors (about 20% than last year) took part in the exhibition, of which 85 were international. The exhibition took up about 60,000 m2. Trade visitors of approximately 40,000 (same level with last year) attended the show, including about 3000 international buyers from Japan, Korea, Russia, Europe, North America, South America, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
In the exhibition, some leading furniture companies ordered big booth. Huafeng Wooden Furniture Company, one of the biggest furniture companies in China, exhibited the new fiberboard furniture which will be put into the market in Auguest, 2008. According to Mr. Xie, the vice general manager of Huafeng, “dollar’s decline has done great effect on the profit of exported furniture, we plan to shift part export furniture to home market.” As one of the biggest export furniture company, Chunbin Furniture Company had the same problem, and also planed to pay more attention to the domestic market. “In the exhibition, we show American style furniture that will enter the domestic market. And we plan to build our own sales agent in big cities,” said Mr. Shi, the manager of trade department in Chunbin.
Another highlight in the Furniture area, Tianjin Walden Furniture Company exhibited the classical bathroom furniture made of solid wood. “All our products are handcraft cave and painting. One third of our products exported to America, Japan, Korea, etc., we are trying to build our own sales shop in Europe”, said Mr. Wang, the general manager of Walden.
Different from some furniture enterprises, some wood machinery enterprises are trying to find machinery importer from foreign countries. Jinan Dongwei Lianhe machinery equipment Co.Ltd exhibited the patent product — Microwave Fast Drying Press. Mr. Zhang, the sales manager said, “it has changed the traditional heating method with slow and uneven subversively, and resolved the wood deformation and crack in old process of drying completely. We have sold the press to Russia, we expect to export our products to more countries.” With the same purpose, Qingdao SUBA CNC international company also intended to export their new product – SB-CNC 1325AA wood caving machine to more foreign countries.
Besides, American government organized about 20 hardwood suppliers attend the exhibition, include Weyerhaeuer, Baillie and Hardwoods of America etc,.Also, German Pollmeier – worldwide beech supplier and German EXOR company took part in the exhibition. They showed the excellent wood resources from all over the world to China enterprises, and took this chance to explore Chinese market.
