The largest wood processing and logging holding in Central and Eastern Europe, the Czech company CE WOOD, is prepared to invest 870 million RUR (23.48 million EUR) in developing forest plots and constructing a plant in the town of Kineshma in Ivanovo Oblast.
Representatives of the company announced that they had looked at 10 sites over the last three months, and had selected Kineshma district. According to the investors, they were looking not only to construct a plant, but to invest considerable resources in forest regeneration in the region. The tenancy period for the tract of forest is 49 years.
This investment project received expert recommendation by the Forestry Committee of Ivanovo Oblast before being reviewed by the Council. Ludmila Koroleva, Chair of the Committee, announced that the possibility of including this proposal in the list of priority investment projects in the Oblast is currently being examined.
